Chronus Mentor Software Increasingly Adopted by Corporations Who Put People First

Top Companies Are Using Chronus Mentor Software to Invest in Developing Corporate Talent

February 4, 2014, BELLEVUE, WAChronus Corporation, a leading provider of software for talent and career development, today announced increasing adoption of its Chronus Mentor software, achieving a customer retention rate of 92 percent year-over-year for the year ending in 2013. Corporations now using Chronus include Atkins Global, Barclays Bank – London, Cobham Aerospace, Daimler Trucks North America, LSI, Medline Industries, PCS Nitrogen, PNC Financial and Staples.

These organizations are using mentoring as a platform to engage and retain key corporate talent through various talent development programs, including leadership development, onboarding training, and employee career development. In a recent research report, The Real Truth Behind Ineffective Managers, the Corporate Executive Board found that talent development programs can be directly linked to employee performance, with managers effective at development seeing a 25 percent increase in performance, 40 percent higher commitment amongst staff, and 29 percent more engaged employees.

“HR can make a substantial contribution to increasing the organization’s agility by encouraging the creation of an ongoing learning culture, providing access to learning resources that enable employees to learn continuously, and designing a performance management process that reinforces the right behaviors and outcomes,” said Stacia Sherman Garr, lead analyst at Bersin by Deloitte in the research report Creating the Agile Organization: The Role of Learning and Performance Management. “This aligned effort is essential for creating a more agile organization and, ultimately, achieving better business results.”

With Chronus’ cloud-based Chronus Mentor software, these customers and others receive program workflows, automation features, and best practices content built-in at every stage of the mentoring program lifecycle, including enrollment, matching, facilitation, program execution and measurement. Chronus Mentor recently received a Brandon Hall Award for technology excellence, gold level. Chronus products are complementary solutions to the traditional “hire to retire” HRM IT systems, offering data integration for seamless operation across the enterprise. Today more than 500,000 professionals use Chronus software, including Chronus Coach and Chronus Mentor, in talent development programs at enterprise-scale organizations.

COMMENTS ON THE NEWS

“We were running career development mentoring programs manually, with lots of spreadsheets and hand matching. It was very high touch for administrators,” explained Suz Hahn, Learning Architect, Corporate Training & Development for Daimler Trucks, North America. “What we like about Chronus Mentor is that mentees can self-match according to their field of interest, which reduces our time. We also appreciate the mentoring program workflows and the reporting metrics. Plus, with the software, we’re now able to scale this program across all US locations. Today there is mentoring buzz at all levels, and everyone realizes this is key to the health of our organization.”

“Mentoring programs have been proven as an effective way for enterprise organizations to improve the business through an investment in their most valuable assets: existing employees,” said Vetri Vellore, founder and CEO at Chronus Corporation. “With the rebound of the economy and the talent pool getting tighter, we’ve seen a marked increase in investment from enterprise organizations in their talent development programs to improve employee engagement and retention. Mentoring as a platform for these initiatives represents a significant and cost-effective part of that investment.”
