Activating Micro-Sponsorship to Tackle Workplace Inequities

In today’s workplace, fostering an inclusive environment that champions diversity and combats inequities is crucial for organizational success, and yet seems to be harder and harder to achieve. One approach to addressing these issues is micro-sponsorship. Unlike traditional sponsorship, which often involves senior individuals mentoring or advocating for junior protégés, micro-sponsorship entails employees engaging in small-scale sponsorship acts at all levels.

This session will explore how by providing targeted support and advocacy “in the moment,” can effectively block micro-inequities and contribute to a more equitable workplace. Participants will learn how micro-sponsorship can dismantle the subtle ways in which underrepresented employees, particularly those from marginalized groups, are singled out or overlooked based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or other dimensions of difference.

This webinar will highlight the importance of identifying potential allies and advocates within the organization, unveil practical strategies for implementing micro-sponsorship, and showcase successful case studies demonstrating its positive impact.
Join us to explore:

  • How Micro-sponsorship can enable allies to provide real-time support and advocacy
  • Actionable strategies and insights from successful examples on how to implement micro-sponsorship initiatives
  • Methods to identify and overcome potential challenges in fostering a culture of micro-sponsorship

This webinar is approved for 1 SHRM recertification credit.
