June 2023: Grant Program Update

Over the last three years, we have taken care to build out the Mentoring for Racial Equity grant program with intentional focus on impact and outcomes. In doing so, we have engaged with some amazing organizations who are working diligently to break down systemic barriers and provide valuable opportunities to people of color and their communities through mentoring.

To continue adding value in the way that best aligns with what we do as an organization, we will be evolving our pursuit of racial equity by adjusting our focus and efforts to our internal community of employees and partners. We will put the grant program on hold for the time being as we build out our growing team, providing a more equitable and inclusive workplace through Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), active programming and resources.

We will update this page if we make any further changes.

What is the Mentoring for Racial Equity Grant?

Mentoring enables people to learn from one another, break down barriers and foster skills and knowledge that can propel individuals to future success. Chronus will grant one eligible non-profit—with a mission centered around racial equity for Black, Indigenous and/or other communities of color—a three-year contract for Chronus mentoring software and standard services.

This grant program aims to be an ally in the pursuit for racial equity and equality in the world in which we work and live.

The basic, human need to connect has always brought people together, even in times of social and physical distancing. Now more than ever, it’s imperative that organizations work to build systems for connection, kinship and understanding for the people they serve. With the help of mentoring, we believe people can see greater success no matter their challenges or obstacles.

Who is Eligible to Enter?

Any US tax-exempt non-profit organization is eligible to enter. Applications will evaluate each organization’s positive impact on the Black community, Indigenous communities and/or other communities of color as well as the organization’s commitment to a mentoring program to positively impact racial equity. For more details, see here.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Limit one entry per Organization. Current Chronus customers are not eligible to apply. Applicants must be legal residents of the 50 U.S. + DC and US territories.

For Official Rules, see here.

What Does the Winning Organization Receive?

The winning non-profit (the “Winner”) will receive a grant comprising (1) access to Chronus’ mentoring software (the “Software”) and standard customer success services (the “Services”) for up to three (3) years at no cost to the Winner in order to establish and maintain a mentoring program supporting up to a maximum of 500 program participants (aka mentors/mentees) concurrently, and (2) a one-time cash contribution in the amount of $7,500 (“Cash Award”) (the foregoing, collectively, the “Grant”).

To be eligible to receive the Grant, the Winner must agree that (1) the Cash Award must be used by Winner to assist in implementing and facilitating the Mentoring Program using the Software, and (2) as a condition to continued access to the Software and Services, the Winner must launch the Mentoring Program within one year of receiving the Grant. If the Winer does not launch the Mentoring Program within one year of receiving the Grant, Chronus may, in its sole discretion, terminate the Winner’s access to the Software and Services without liability to the Winner beginning on the date that is 366 calendar days after the date of receipt of the Grant.
